 Sindh Launches Special Anti-Polio Campaign Amid Positive Environmental Samples

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, kicked off a special anti-polio campaign targeting 24 districts across the province. 

This urgent initiative comes in response to the concerning discovery of positive environmental samples for poliovirus in 11 locations. 

The campaign aims to vaccinate a staggering 8 million children under the age of 5 before May 3rd. To ensure its success, the Sindh government has deployed a massive force of 62,000 frontline health workers supported by over 4,000 security personnel. Vaccination will be conducted at homes, schools, hospitals, and even transit points to maximize accessibility.

Chief Minister Shah emphasized the importance of parental participation, urging them to actively cooperate with health workers to protect their children from this debilitating disease.

 He further called upon teachers, media outlets, and businesses to play a crucial role in disseminating information and raising awareness about the campaign.

Our proactive measures are in place to effectively prevent the spread of the virus, declared CM Shah. 

He reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to child safety and achieving a polio-free Sindh and Pakistan.
