The Sindh government, under the leadership of Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, has initiated a robust campaign against tax evasion and drug trafficking, aiming to safeguard the prosperity and well-being of the nation. Recognizing the detrimental impact of these criminal activities on the economy and society, the government has resolved to take decisive actions.

In a high-level meeting convened by Senior Minister Memon, attended by officials including Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Secretary Saleem Rajput and DG Aurangzeb Panhor, a comprehensive strategy was devised to combat tax evasion and drug peddling effectively. Emphasizing the seriousness of the issue, Senior Minister Memon affirmed that tax evaders are adversaries of national progress and will face consequences without leniency.

One of the significant measures announced is the publication of the names of tax evaders in newspapers, intending to expose their illicit activities to the public eye and deter others from following suit. Additionally, steps will be taken to freeze the accounts of those found guilty of tax evasion.

The Sindh government also commended the ongoing crackdown on drug dealers across the province and pledged unwavering support to intensify these efforts. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Senior Minister Memon stressed that drug peddlers pose a serious threat to the future of the country and must be dealt with sternly.

To bolster the campaign, competent police officers and personnel will be seconded to the Excise Department, particularly in Karachi and Hyderabad, to conduct targeted operations against drug peddlers and tax evaders. Collaboration among relevant institutions will be paramount to ensure the success of these operations.

Moreover, the meeting proposed rewarding outstanding officers and informers for their exceptional performance, aiming to incentivize dedication and diligence in combating these crimes. Additionally, plans were discussed to implement biometric registration and transfer of vehicles to enhance transparency and accountability within the Excise Department.

In addressing grievances related to the department, the government affirmed its commitment to finding equitable solutions for all stakeholders, ensuring a fair and just system. By adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards tax evasion and drug trafficking, the Sindh government is steadfast in its determination to uphold the rule of law and protect the interests of the nation.
