Indian singer, actor, producer, TV host, and former politician Amitabh Bachchan, who won the Star of the Millennium award, turned 80 years old. A special event on his birthday will be held today on his TV show, in which his wife Jaya Bachchan, and son Abhishek Bachchan will shed light on important aspects of Amitabh's life. 

He plays roles and also appears in several commercials from which he is earning crores of rupees. Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942, to Harivansh Roy, a poet in Allahabad. His mother Teji Bachchan belonged to a Punjabi Sikh Khatri family of Lyallpur (Faisalabad). Amitabh started his film career in 1969 with the film Phil Saat Hindustani directed by Khawaja Ahmed Abbas. Like other new actors, Amitabh's first film also flopped badly. In 1971, he played the role of a doctor in the film Anand opposite Rajesh Khanna. 

Amitabh Bachchan's picture was placed in a corner in the poster of the film as he was considered a B-class actor. In 1972, famous comedian Mehmood gave Amitabh an opportunity to act in his film Bombay to Goa. With the success of the film, Amitabh started getting regular offers for lead roles and thus the Indian film industry got a new hero. This film journey of Amitabh continues today. Congress leaders Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi were Amitabh's closest friends. Before marrying Rajiv Gandhi, when Sonia Gandhi came to India from Italy on 13 January 1968, Amitabh went to pick her up from the Delhi airport. Gained awareness about society.

 In 1984, Amitabh secured more than 68% votes in the Lok Sabha seat from Uttar Pradesh, which is a unique record in the history of Indian elections and no one has been able to break it to date. She got married to actor Jaya Bahadur in 1973. His son Abhishek Bachchan is a famous film star while his daughter Shweta is a writer and journalist. In recognition of Amitabh's performance, he was awarded the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Legend of Honour, Padma Vibushan, and Dadasaheb Phalke awards. In 2002, he also wrote Aap Beeti.
